My Colitis Cure Protocol
Ok guys, here it is...the information so many of you have been waiting for...how I healed myself of colitis. Yes, I got rid of it, and it only took a couple of weeks. Here's the list of what to do, in no particular order:
1. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, dairy (esp milk and cheese), meat (especially if it's not organic) and all refined sugars. For anyone who might be unsure of what refined sugar is, it would include anything made with sugar (especially high fructose corn syrup) or white flour of any kind...so white bread, white noodles, sodas, fruit juices with added sugar or high fructose corn syrup, candy, and any other type of sweets like cookies, cakes, ice cream, etc. should all be avoided.

2. A tablespoon of Active Manuka Honey 20 minutes before meals on an empty stomach. Active manuka honey is a miracle product. It's the honey from the tea tree oil plant in New Zealand (see research and order at http://www.manukahoneyusa.com/). There's a famous MD from New Zealand who's been studying the health benefits of this honey for the past 25 yrs. He's found it (along with Oil of Oregano, which has all of the same properties) to be the number one anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic in the world. It's stronger than any antibiotic on the market, including Vancomycin, which is reserved for the most serious health problems such as Ebola. It is known to heal staph infections, including MRSA, strep, diabetic leg and foot ulcers, surgical wounds, open bed sores, first, second and third degree burns, cosmetic surgery wounds, acid reflux, heartburn, gastritis, up-set stomach, stomach ulcers, colitis, ibs and mild forms of diverticulitis, and more.
3. Aloe vera juice stomach formula (Aloe Vera 80 and also Lily of the Desert both make one). It's aloe vera juice with special herbs that soothe and heal the colon, including peppermint leaf, chamomile leaf, marshmallow root, borage leaf, ginger root, pau d'arco bark, blessed thistle leaf, slippery elm leaf, oatstraw leaf, and fennel seed. It promotes healthy digestion while supporting normal acid levels in the stomach and stimulating the growth of healthy bacteria in the intestinal tract. I also know someone who uses this for acid reflux, as she sometimes will wake up in the middle of the night and it's so bad that she can't breath, and it takes it away within 30 seconds of drinking it.
4. Herbal Fiberblend. This is an amazing powdered herbal supplement that you mix with juice and drink. Start with once a day, and after two or three days, increase to twice a day. It's an AMAZING and INDISPENSIBLE supplement, and in fact should be part of your daily routine if you live in an industrialized country like ours where we consume a diet high in refined sugars and carbohydrates. When we eat refined sugars and carbohydrates, they form a thick paste which sticks to the colon wall and stays there. It's a major contributing factor in all of the modern colon diseases like colon cancer, diverticulitis, chron's, colitis, etc. This paste also prevents nutrients from the supplements and good food that we eat from being absorbed into our systems. I take it every day. Once you start taking it, you'll never want to stop. Not to be graphic, but it makes you go to the bathroom like you've never gone before. Your bowel movements are effortless and you get rid of sooo much garbage in your colon....stuff that's been stuck in there for possibly decades. Many people lose their lower stomach pouch with this product as well. It cleanses the colon without removing the good flora from the intestinal tract as a colonic would. Not only does it not remove the good flora, it actually increases it. It has psyllium husks to remove the years of sludge buildup on the colon wall, but it is also anti-spasmodic, because it has all of the soothing herbs to heal the colon, including: black walnut hulls, hibiscus flowers, alfalfa leaves and stem, licorice root, shavegrass grass, cascara sagrada bark, rose hips, oatstraw, pumpkin seed, irish moss, yucca stalk and trunk, marshmallow root, passionflower leaves and stem, capsicum fruit, mullein leaves, slippery elm bark, violet leaves, and witch hazel leaves.
5. Probiotic formulas containing L. Salivarius and FOS. Double or triple the recommended dose and spread it out throughout the day, since part of the problem is the lack of good flora in the intestinal tract.
6. Wheatgrass to raise your body's pH and soothe and heal the colon. I normally take one serving of wheatgrass per day, but when I was struggling with colitis, I tried to take it 3 times/day. Wheatgrass is one of the most alkaline foods known to mankind. One ounce of wheatgrass juice is equivalent in vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to two and a half pounds of green vegetables! Due to the alkalinizing effects, it is a tremendous immune booster and also raises the good flora content in the gut. Keep in mind, that if your pH is high enough, you can'extremely hight catch anything from the common cold to cancer. It is also a blood cleanser due to the fact that it's 70% chlorophyll, which has almost the same molecular structure as hemoglobin, or human blood. Wheatgrass also contains at least 13 vitamins (several are antioxidants), including B12, many minerals and trace elements, including selenium, and all 20 amino acids. Wheatgrass juice benefits the blood cells, bones, glands, hair, kidneys, liver, muscles, spleen, teeth, and protects the lungs and blood from air and water pollution, cigarette smoke, toxins, and heavy metals. Wheatgrass juice is also a safe, effective, and an extremely potent aid to weight loss. It works by suppressing appetite, and by stimulating metabolism and circulation.
A good way to get your wheatgrass is in powder form. It's much more convenient, much less expensive, and has all of the same nutrients and enzymes as fresh wheatgrass. The one I use is from AIM, as it's a one stop for the Herbal Fiberblend and wheatgrass as well.
7. Herbal teas. They can be very soothing to the stomach, digestive and intestinal tracts. Especially rooibos, burdock root, black walnut hull, chamomile, ginger, catnip, calendula, peppermint, licorice, marshmallow and yarrow. I highly recommend the rooibos, burdock and black walnut hull, catnip and calendula above all else, but the others have considerable value as well. Triple Leaf Tea is a wonderful tea maker who uses ancient Chinese herbs in conjunction with modern herbology. Their herbs are highly concentrated and they have just about every obscure herb you could possibly think of. And just as a sidebar, the proper way to brew tea so as not to compromise the potency of the herbs is to heat water being careful NOT to bring it to a boil, then add the tea leaves or tea bags, at which point you should take it off the stove and cover it for 10-20 minutes.

Finally, here are some general tips:
1. No raw fruit on an empty stomach.
2. Smaller, more frequent meals. No large meals.
3. Do eat whole grains such as whole grain bread and noodles and brown rice, fruits and vegetables (go easy on beans though), and herbal teas.
I would also like to stress the importance of eating organic, whether it be meat, dairy or produce. So many people just don't have a good grasp of what it means. Conventional soil has been depleted of so many nutrients over the years from over-farming and the use of chemicals and pesticides, that the crops grown in that soil are nutrient deficient. According to Jon Barron in "Lessons From the Miracle Doctors," it takes 80 cups of today's conventional supermarket spinach to give you the same iron you'd get from just one cup of spinach grown 50 years ago, 19 ears of corn to equal the nutritional value of just one ear of corn grown in 1940, and today's wheat contains less than half the protein as the wheat our grandparents ate. And let's not forget about all of those crops that are genetically modified! That's the first problem. The second problem is, not only are the animals we eat raised on grain from that same soil, but they are also injected with growth hormones and antibiotics, all of which lower the pH, and thus, your immune system, and put a strain on the liver. When the liver is strained, we also have trouble losing weight. Many of these things the liver can't even break down, so the contaminants just remain in the liver, which causes a plethora of health problems including constipation, digestive problems, low energy, allergies and hay fever, arthritis, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and infertility.
